Dr. Robert Goldstein and Dr. Marc Koch

Dr. Robert Goldstein is a product of the state of Michigan where he attended the University of Michigan and received his Bachelor of Science. Following college, Dr. Goldstein traveled to New York and graduated from Downstate Medical School. After medical school, Dr. Goldstein completed an internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and then went on to Yale University School of Medicine to complete a residency in Anesthesiology. During residency at Yale, Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Koch discovered a mutual interest in the delivery of anesthesia for patients undergoing surgery in an office setting.

Intent on improving the existing quality of care in this venue, and providing a valuable service to physicians and patients alike, Resource Anesthesiology Associates. P.C. was born. Numerous consultations, presentations and news appearances to help promote patient safety have made Dr. Goldstein a recognized leader in office anesthesia.

Dr. Marc Koch was born and raised on Long Island, New York and graduated both college and medical school from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with honors. After medical school, Dr. Koch completed an internship in medicine at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York and then went on to complete a three-year residency in Anesthesiology at the prestigious Yale University School of Medicine. At Yale, Dr. Koch focused on ambulatory and pediatric anesthesia and discerned the need for better anesthesia care in the office setting. It was at Yale that Dr. Koch completed groundbreaking research on the role of music in the operating room and discovered new and innovative ways to lessen the side effects of patients undergoing ambulatory anesthesia.

Dr. Koch is a proud member of the Society for Office Based Anesthesia, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia. He currently serves as Chairman of the SAMBA Committee for Office-based Anesthesia where he works diligently to promote patient safety in the office setting. Dr. Koch has authored numerous articles on office anesthesia and has given countless speeches on how to improve safety in the office setting. After serving as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Koch assumed a full-time role as President of Resource Anesthesiology Associates. P. C. Dr. Koch is an internationally recognized expert on office-based anesthesia

 

Resource Anesthesiology Associates, P.C. was founded in 1995 by Yale-trained Doctors Marc E. Koch and Robert C. Goldstein. It has grown to be a leading company within the office and ambulatory surgery industry, serving more than 60 offices in NY, NJ and CT. This is mainly due to the experience, expertise, and clinical acumen of RAA physicians as well as a thorough understanding of the importance of interpersonal interactions with patients and surgeons. Dr. Koch has chaired the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia's Committee on Office-Based Anesthesia, the American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) Committee on Ambulatory Surgical Care, and the ASA Task Force that Developed National Guidelines for Office-Based Anesthesia. He has also provided input to several state legislatures on the importance of safe and secure anesthesia for patients undergoing surgery in their doctor's office. Dr. Koch has appeared in the New York Times, Money Magazine, and Crain's Business as well as helped developing stories for 60 Minutes, Dateline NBC, Fox News, and other local stations.
